Black Lion Schools welcomes you as a new student and will do everything it can to help you reach your martial arts goals.
MEMBERSHIP POLICIES AND SCHOOL RULES
Black Lion designed the Membership Policies ("Policies") to insure a safer and more enjoyable environment in which to train. So, please be thoughtful and observe the Policies as you, and all students, agreed to follow. Black Lion may, in its sole discretion, modify the Policies without notice at any time. Black Lion will post the changes. It's your responsibility to know and follow the most current Policies and Rules.
PROHIBITED ITEMS AND ACTIVITIES
Practice Areas: Warm up, stretching, or practicing martial arts (collectively referred to as "Practice") is limited to the areas designated for these activities by the Black Lion instructors. If there is any question about what activities are acceptable in certain areas, this should be raised with Black Lion staff.
Two Person Activities: You cannot engage in sparring, push hands, or any two-person drill or Practice without the direct supervision of a Black Lion instructor. When engaged in sparring you must wear safety equipment consisting of head gear, chest protector, gloves, groin protector, mouthpiece, shin guards, and sparring shoes.
Training Equipment and Weapons: You cannot use martial arts training equipment or weapons that you have not been specifically trained to use by a Black Lion instructor. Never practice with weapons near other students.
No Alcohol, Drugs, Smoking, Etc.: You cannot use the facilities or engage in any activity at Black Lion while under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. Also, Black Lion does not permit smoking, alcohol, illegal drugs, or steroids in its Facilities.
Food and Beverages: You cannot take or consume food or beverages in the Facilities, unless the food or beverage is in a spill-proof plastic container.
Personal Training: Only qualified Black Lion instructors or assistant instructors are allowed to conduct private lessons or group classes. Students should never attempt to train other students.
UNIFORM
Black Lion requires all students to wear appropriate clothes when attending all classes and lessons at Black Lion. The School Uniform consists of Black Lion approved kung-fu pants, dark T-shirt, kung-fu sash, and non-marking shoes (indoor football/soccer shoes or barefoot shoes are most suitable). On cold days a sweatshirt or long sleeve shirt can be worn. Any clothing not approved by Black Lion is not part of the School Uniform and cannot be worn during lessons or classes. No jewelry (including watches and rings should be worn during training. Wedding rings can be excepted if they have no raised sections, however it is advised to refrain from wearing any rings to avoid damage either to the hands or ring(s) during striking.
CONDUCT
While in the Facilities, Black Lion does not permit and will not tolerate any inappropriate conduct. Such conduct includes, without limitation, using loud, abusive, offensive, insulting, demeaning language, or profanity or any conduct that harasses or is bothersome to students or Black Lion employees.
VIOLATION OF RULES
If any student violates any of the Policies or Rules, Black Lion will ask that person to stop or leave. A violation may also cause Black Lion to terminate the violator's membership according to the terms of his or her Membership Agreement.
